The running joke at the end of the winter season at Mount Washington was that the snow would last until June and you would be able to ski and snowboard the opening day of summer operations.
Norway wins kids skiing award
The accolade comes from the governing body of skiing and snowboarding, FIS. It's part of its campaign to encourage children to take up snow sports whether, it be recreational or racing.
Saddleback Expands Discounted Skiing for Top Students Beyond Maine
Rangeley, ME - Saddleback Maine is expanding the ski resort's PEAK (Promoting Education and Activity for Kids) program to honor roll students in all of New England. Honor roll students in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont are now eligible to purchase a season pass for $99. Maine honor roll students can purchase a PEAK pass for $59.
Aspen Skiing Company announces skier visit increase 4.3%
Mike Kaplan and the Aspen ski resort entourage were rejoicing this week as the skier visits from the 2009/2010 were up 4.3% from the 2008/2009 ski season. Citing a big January as well as the banzai late March and early April storms as the catalyst, Aspen's news comes on the heals of Vail's news of yesterday in which every ski number was up. (check out all the Wally George comments at the bottom of the story)
